Summary of the plot.

Based on the classic ghost story, THE WOMAN IN BLACK tells the tale of Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), a lawyer who is forced to leave his young son and travel to a remote village to attend to the affairs of the recently deceased owner of Eel Marsh House.

Working alone in the old mansion, Kipps begins to uncover the town's tragic and tortured secrets and his fears escalate when he discovers that local children have been dying under mysterious circumstances. When those closest to him become threatened by the vengeful woman in black, Kipps must find a way to break the cycle of terror.

Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe-

"It's going to be terrifying, and at the test screening they had, apparently people were leaping out of their seats terrified, so I think it's just going to be a really, really good movie," he revealed. "I'm looking forward to the full trailer coming out, presumably months down the line because I think when people start to see more and more, I think the buzz about it will continue to build."

Woman in Black poem

During afternoon tea,
There's a shift in the air
A bone-trembling chill,
That tells you she's there.

There are those who believe
The whole town is cursed.
But the house in the marsh
is by far the worst.

What she wants is unknown,
but she always comes back.
The spectre of darkness,
The Woman in Black.

Film poster

The official cinema poster. I think this is a clever poster as it continues the thoughts from the previous poster, as it's spooky and mysterious. It's quite a foggy, dark background with a ghostly figure which you can see next to the question which asks if you believe in ghosts. Ironically, this means that the viewer could agree to the question as seeing is believing.. and therefore is left feeling in the unknown and wanting to see the film. The expression on the man's face is uncertain which builds lots of mystery in the poster, encouraging viewers.

Film Poster

This is one of the thought provoking posters I've found. I like this one at it shows mystery and features a rhetorical question which can leave the viewers mind thinking.
